New England Memories welcomes submissions of creative nonfiction, poetry, photography and artwork about your memories of living in New England. Please review the guidelines on this page before submitting. I look forward to seeing your work!

Submitted work should feature and celebrate real people, places, and/or events in any of the New England states.

I accept submissions by email only: pinesiskinpress@gmail.com. Please include a short biography (up to 100 words or so) with your submission. If you have an author or artist site about your work, you are welcome to include a link to it in the biography.

Creative Nonfiction

  • New England Memories is interested in reviewing short memoirs (a slice of life), personal essays, or articles about New Englanders and special places in New England.
  • Nonfiction pieces can be up to 2000 words (give or take a few). Please include a word count with your submission. Use Times Roman 12, double-space.
  • Send your submission in an MS Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) file, as an attachment to your email.
  • Please submit only one work of nonfiction for review until you hear back from me.

Poetry

  • New England Memories is interested in all forms of poetry—free verse, sonnets, haiku, and so forth— about your memories of New England.
  • You may submit up to 5 pages of poems. We prefer shorter poems (one page at most, single-spaced).
  • Send your submission in an MS Word (.doc or .docx) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) file, as an attachment to your email.
  • Please submit only one set of poems for review until you hear back from me.

Photography & Artwork

  • New England Memories is interested in photographs taken in New England, and in paintings, collage, or other mixed media that portray your memories of New England.
  • You may submit up to three images in .jpg format (no larger than 5 MB each, please).
  • Please submit only one set of images for review until you hear back from me.

Contributors retain all rights to their work.

I’ll respond to your submission in 8 to 12 weeks.
